Project Overview
This Sterling, Virginia home underwent a complete bathroom transformation to replace an outdated layout and improve functionality. The homeowners originally had a small shower and an oversized tub surrounded by tile with a tricky step-up that made it difficult to access. Their goal was to create a more open, spa-like environment that maximized every inch of the room.
The redesigned space now features a generous walk-in shower nearly four times larger than the original, paired with a freestanding soaking tub that adds a timeless focal point. The new rustic alder cabinetry in a warm Tawny finish brings natural texture and depth, complemented by sleek quartz countertops in Sahara Beige for a refined contrast.
A brushed nickel faucet and fixtures from Signature Hardware and Kingston Brass enhance the room’s soft, neutral palette, tying together traditional charm with modern comfort. The floor’s natural wood-look tile adds warmth and continuity throughout, while the shower’s pebble flooring in Khaki and porcelain wall tiles in Iron and Beige create inviting layers of texture. The result is a perfectly balanced retreat that blends rustic character with modern design sensibility.
