Nestled in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, VA, this townhome held years of cherished memories for its homeowner. After her husband’s passing, she was determined to fulfill the dream they had shared—to reimagine their home together through thoughtful remodeling. The project began with the primary bathroom, a space she wanted to reflect both her personal style and the timeless charm of historic Alexandria.

The renovation focused on three key goals: enhancing functionality and aesthetic appeal, incorporating aging-in-place features, and supporting future resale value.

Warm oak Shiloh cabinetry finished in Silas stain with a soft nickel glaze set the tone for the room’s elegant yet grounded palette. The Greensboro door style and hardwood dovetail drawers provided durability and craftsmanship, complemented by full-extension, soft-close guides for everyday ease.

A quartz countertop offered a sleek, low-maintenance surface, while Delta’s Cassidy collection in a champagne bronze finish added refined warmth to both the sink and shower fixtures. The traditional hand shower with H2Okinetic technology delivered a luxurious and efficient bathing experience.

To complete the transformation, 12×12 Petal Gray matte flooring provided a sophisticated foundation, paired with Timeless White 1.5-inch matte hexagon tiles on the shower floor for subtle contrast and texture. The walls, finished in Mercury Grey 4×12 tile with Jolly trim, tied the entire space together in a cohesive and classic Alexandrian aesthetic.
