Oak Hill Luxury Home Remodel – Kitchen & Bathrooms

Transforming a home is about more than updating finishes—it’s about creating spaces that inspire, function beautifully, and feel personal. In this Northern Virginia luxury home remodel, Sun Design Remodeling worked with homeowners in the Oak Hill neighborhood of Herndon, VA, to reimagine their entire living space, from an open-concept kitchen to fully updated bathrooms.

A Kitchen Designed for Cooking and Connection

For this family, the kitchen needed to serve two purposes: a functional space for the husband, the household chef, and a welcoming environment for social gatherings. The result is an open-concept kitchen centered around a triangular island, designed for easy workflow and comfortable seating.

Custom cherry cabinets in a Truffle finish provide both style and storage, while soft-close drawers and concealed hinges add a touch of luxury and convenience. The countertops combine Blue Pearl granite along the perimeter and seating area with a Labrador Blue Eyes granite top for the island, creating a striking visual centerpiece.

Plumbing fixtures were carefully selected for both form and function. The Franke Orca undermount sink, Kohler Promaster pull-out spray faucet, and Elkay Mystic Bar Swoop secondary sink offer versatile cooking and prep spaces, while Hansgrohe soap dispensers and body sprays complete the polished look.

The backsplash and tile details tie the space together, with gray blend waterfall glass, custom Mixed Up Mosaics accents, and handmade Mexican tile stair risers adding texture, color, and artistry. A coffered ceiling with brushed satin nickel fixtures, under-cabinet LED lighting, and dimmable LED tape lighting ensures the space is as bright and inviting as it is functional.

Luxurious Bathroom Upgrades

Every bathroom in the home received a thoughtful redesign to match the home’s new level of luxury. The master bathroom features custom cherry cabinetry with a Truffle finish, Italian Blue Pearl granite countertops, and a freestanding Victoria & Albert “Chesire” bathtub. A frameless glass shower, Arabescatto marble flooring, and polished nickel hardware create a spa-like atmosphere.

Guest, powder, and basement bathrooms also received premium upgrades, including Brandy or Slate cabinetry, granite and ceramic countertops, Kohler fixtures, and carefully chosen tile accents, including black and white marble mosaics and handmade tiles. Each space balances functionality with elegance, delivering a cohesive and high-end finish throughout the home.

A Complete Home Transformation

Beyond the kitchen and bathrooms, this Northern Virginia luxury home remodel included refinished main floor hardwood, a new walk-in primary closet, and upgraded lighting throughout. From the seamless open-concept layout to the attention to detail in cabinetry, countertops, tile, and fixtures, every element was selected to enhance both beauty and usability.

Sun Design handled the renovation of our large basement several years ago.
