Project Overview
The clients in McLean, VA wanted to update their kitchen and create a stronger connection to the family room. Their previous U-shaped kitchen restricted movement, made serving meals cumbersome, and blocked sightlines to the family room.
By relocating entries from the foyer and sitting room, the kitchen was reconfigured into an open L-shaped layout with a central island. The refrigerator wall was moved to create a 12-foot wide opening into the family room, allowing the chef to stay engaged with the family while cooking.
The clients are passionate about coffee, so their custom cabinetry was designed to neatly store coffee supplies from around the world and keep dressings organized.

Perimeter Cabinets: Crystal Current, maple, Antique Ivory, Montgomery style doors, slab drawers with 5/8″ hardwood dovetail boxes, soft-close full-extension guides

Island Cabinets: Crystal Encore, cherry, Cinnamon finish, Savannah style doors, slab drawers with 3/4″ dovetail boxes, soft-close full-extension guides
Countertops: Quartzite in Dolce Vita, Luxury White, Taj Mahal, or Sea Pearl with standard edge profile
Faucet: Kohler “Simplice” in stainless steel
Backsplash: Crema Marfil polished marble, 3″ x 12″, horizontal 1/3 running bond, TEC Pearl 988 grout
