In this Fairfax, VA home, a family of four enjoys casual entertaining and sought a more functional flow between their main living spaces. While the kitchen was the heart of the home, the real transformation focused on improving connectivity and organization throughout the house. The expanded kitchen now opens seamlessly to both the family room, used daily by the family, and the living room, designed for entertaining guests.

Adjacent to the kitchen, a thoughtfully designed mudroom and laundry area provide practical functionality for the garage entry, complete with custom cabinetry finished in a warm, painted maple and durable quartz countertops. The pantry blends style and utility, offering ample storage with soft-close drawers and concealed pull-out shelves.

Upstairs, the master suite was reimagined to create a serene retreat. The master bedroom layout now accommodates a spacious walk-in closet of approximately 90 sq. ft., featuring built-in shelving, hanging space, and a cozy window nook with rich hardwood flooring that complements the home’s classic trim and neutral palette.
