Transforming a Dated Bethesda Home into a Modern Retreat

Our Bethesda clients felt their home was dated and lacked the functionality they desired. With a backyard pool, creating a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces—especially the kitchen—was a priority. Sun Design Remodeling reimagined their entire home, delivering a full-scale renovation that included a kitchen remodel, bathroom upgrades, basement finishing, and custom built-ins that reflect the family’s style.

Gourmet Kitchen Remodel with Premium Finishes

The kitchen was completely reconfigured to enhance flow and natural light, featuring Shiloh Maple cabinets in a rich Sable finish with Hanover doors, dovetailed plywood drawers, and full-extension soft-close guides. Countertops were finished in Madura Gold and New Venetian Gold granite, paired with a Kohler Vault stainless steel sink and Kohler Simplice pull-down faucet. A combination of Dal Tile Almond porcelain backsplash and Mexican Terra Nova Hacienda accent tiles adds warmth and visual interest.

Hardware in the kitchen includes Top Knobs Pewter Antique twisted wire pulls, combining elegance with everyday functionality. The flooring in the kitchen transitions beautifully into the foyer and powder room, finished with client-selected hardwood.

Elegant Bathroom Upgrades

The master bath showcases Shiloh Maple cabinets in Silas with Graphite Glaze, complemented by Uba Tuba granite countertops. Kohler Ladena undermount sinks and Mirabelle Provincetown widespread faucets in chrome elevate the space, while custom mosaic shower walls and Rustica subway tile accents create a spa-like feel. The powder room features a striking Adler II copper vessel sink with Moen oil-rubbed bronze wall-mounted faucet and coordinated accessories.

Basement Finishing & Functional Spaces

The basement now includes a guest room, pool entrance, and music room with Duraceramic Dreamscape Earthen Green tile and cement floors, delivering durable and stylish surfaces. Custom built-ins and optional wet bar cabinetry in Shiloh Metro style with matching granite tops provide versatile spaces for entertainment and family gatherings.
