Project Overview

In Fairfax Station, VA, these homeowners wanted to modernize their primary bathroom to better suit their daily routines. The original shower was cramped, and a lack of closet space made mornings unnecessarily stressful. With their adult children having moved out, the former upstairs bedroom was repurposed to accommodate a spacious walk-in closet, creating a more functional and luxurious environment.

The renovation features rich espresso-colored maple cabinetry from Shiloh with Homestead-style doors and full-extension drawers, providing ample storage and an elegant look. Kashmir White granite countertops with a smooth ½-inch roundover edge and a coordinating tile backsplash complete the vanity area. A Kohler Purist brushed nickel faucet enhances the sink, while a Mirabelle Galatia soaking tub adds a spa-like touch to the space.

The shower includes a Kohler handheld shower in brushed nickel, and the flooring combines 18×18 Endure Sea Salt tiles in a straight pattern with #903 Birch grout for a cohesive, calming design. The shower floor features matching 3×3 tiles for both style and safety. Walls are tiled with 12×24 Chalk Layer tiles, accented with Crema Strato Pietra mosaic tiles in select areas to create visual interest while maintaining a serene aesthetic. The result is a beautifully functional bathroom that blends luxury, practicality, and timeless design.
