Undertaking a major renovation during a pandemic seemed unthinkable but Craig D. from Sun Design assured us that strict safety protocols were in place and would be followed closely by everyone involved in our project and by all workers entering our home. We delayed the start for several months during the early part of the Covid-19 outbreak which actually enabled us to refocus our priorities and to redefine the project, with a shift to make “aging in place” in our upstairs living quarters a top priority in addition to totally renovating our lower level to accommodate our large family gatherings. The project was completed in just under 6 months, on time and on budget. Sun Design exceeded our expectations! They are truly committed to excellence from the top down. In addition to their strong leadership, as displayed to us by Craig, the strengths of Sun Design include 1) an outstanding design team - Chris and Jenny - who consistently provided excellent choices within our budget based on our “inspirations” - Houzz was a helpful source for these. The design team listened carefully to determine our needs and desires and they demonstrated great flexibility and patience during the entire process. 2) We also had a dedicated and competent project manager in Jack who kept the trades on schedule and accountable and we were able to see the weekly/monthly schedule, the payment schedule and our progress with photos via an online portal that Jack updated regularly. 3) The excellence and professionalism of all the trades that visited our home during the project were above par. Sun Design has a collaborative relationship with these professionals most of which they have worked with for years so trust in all of them came easily. 4) in addition to the excellent work there is a 3-year warranty. We met the people from the warranty department at the final walk through and a “checkup” visit for minor maintenance was scheduled for 3 months later. Bob and I absolutely love our new living spaces - thank you, Sun Design for a long-time dream come true!
