Project Overview

This Vienna, VA home was originally a single-story residence, but the homeowners chose to expand upward with a thoughtfully designed second-story addition that introduced a new primary suite. The goal was to create a comfortable, private retreat that would allow extended stays for visiting in-laws while keeping daily living centered on the main level.

The new primary suite includes a spacious walk-in closet and a hotel-inspired primary bathroom designed to feel both refined and restorative. Floating vanities with sleek slab-style cabinetry contribute to the clean, contemporary aesthetic, while warm wood tones in the accent tile add depth and visual contrast. Quartz countertops in a crisp Arctic White extend seamlessly to the accent wall cap, reinforcing the spa-like atmosphere.

A freestanding soaking tub becomes a focal point of the bath, positioned against a distinctive wall feature with a double-sided niche for both form and function. Polished chrome fixtures, paired with intentional lighting selections, elevate the space with subtle elegance. Matte porcelain floor tiles ground the design, offering durability and a soft, modern finish that balances the room’s brighter surfaces.

Together, the addition and interior finishes transform the home—adding flexibility, comfort, and a refined retreat that feels intentionally designed for long-term living and welcoming guests.
